NATURAL HIGHLIGHTS ☀️

  • Ponta da Piedade – The most iconic spot in Lagos, with dramatic golden cliffs, sea arches, and stunning viewpoints (especially at sunrise or sunset). Walk the boardwalk along the coast and you'll see the sweeping views of the entire coast and the long staircase down to Ponta de Piedade. You can also grab a boat and see it via sea.
  • Praia Dona Ana – A beautiful cove beach with calm waters and striking rock formations.
  • Praia do Camilo – Famous for its wooden staircase and postcard-perfect scenery.
  • Meia Praia – A long, open beach ideal for walking, sunbathing, and water sports. Also a great boardwalk right off of the beach, great for running, cycling, or just a nice coastal walk.

HISTORICAL LANDMARKS 🏛️

  • Forte da Ponta da Bandeira – A 17th-century fortress overlooking the harbor with great views and small exhibits.
  • Igreja de Santo António – A stunning baroque church known for its ornate gold interior.
  • Mercado de Escravos – Europe’s first slave market, now a small museum offering important historical insight.
  • Castelo dos Governadores – Historic castle walls right in the heart of the Old Town.

CHARMING TOWNS & DAY TRIPS  

Sagres – A laid-back surf town at the southwestern tip of Europe, known for wild cliffs, big waves, and the dramatic Fortaleza de Sagres. Check out Cabo de Sao Vicente where Christopher Columbus marked "the end of the world" and stay for the amazing sunset!

Silves – A historic inland town known for its red sandstone castle, Castelo de Silves, and traditional Portuguese character.

Burgau – A small, picturesque beach village often called the “Santorini of the Algarve.”

Praia da Luz – A peaceful seaside town perfect for a relaxed beach day close to Lagos.

Bahia - Located on the beach in Meia Praia, this restaurant serves fresh dishes including grilled tuna, sandwiches, burgers and more. Kids can play free in the dunes while the parents eat and the vibe is very laid back. They also do live music at night in the summers! https://www.bahia.pt/

Sunrays Kitchen - Unique dishes, fresh and always homemade this place is great for lunch. Only has outdoor seating with just 1 or 2 tables inside. NIGHT TIME

Nah Nah Bah - Voted Top 50 burger in the world! Burgers, craft beers, sangrias, cocktails and fish tacos. This place is an institution in Lagos having been open for over 20 years. There is no better vibe in Lagos than the one at Nah Nah Bah.
